Is it possible to give a unit access to the menu options for Combat Support and not have access to C2ISTAR options? (such as intel, tasks and so on)
I set the required item in the C2ISTAR module to "Alive_tablet" and the item in the Combat Support module to "tf_rt1523g" but nothing shows up at all for units that only have the "tf_rt1523g" backpack. If I then change the required item for C2ISTAR to "tf_rt1523g" as well both modules functionality show up correctly.
Is this intended behavior?
that seems to have been the issue, thanks!
On another note, is it possible to same the full factions in their individual files and somehow run them from the description file instead? or do I have to combine all factions into one huge table in the description file?
I have tried to make my own groups for the RHS factions but I can't quite get it to work. I have mostly made the groups smaller in size, moved them to the "correct" categories and lastly I deleted all Armored groups and made new one with some of the heavier mechanized units instead, so I could make them rarer.
However the M1A1 tanks still spawn even if they don't exist in any of the groups in my description.ext file, so I guess I'm doing something wrong. (when I open orbat at mission start I can see that all my groups gets loaded correctly though)

I got this task when trying one of my maps, first I flew there in a chopper and managed to land without drawing attention. After running around for a bit chat said the pilot activated IR beacon but when I walked over to the marker there was no one in sight.
How precise is the marker? I did comb a 100m radius but I guess Its possible I missed it.
I haven't used the black version before actually, maybe i was unclear. :) but i am also unable to use the standard one in this mission, but that one works fine in one of the old ones.
Are you still able to get tf_rt1523g to work in a new mission for example? But not tf_rt1523g_black?
I tried with the alive_tablet now and it worked fine, so everything is set up correctly. But as soon as I try with tf_rt1523g_black instead the option can't be found under the alive menu.
I exported the player loadout to make sure it was the correct classname so I'm stumped as to why it won't work. Could anyone else with TFAR give it a go and see if you get the same experience?
I'd upload my mission but it requires quite a few mods (RHS & CUP terrain are the big ones) but tell me if you want to give it a go and I can PM it to you.
I gave it a go but unfortunately it did not work either, when i look in game by script it seems like the class names start with "tf_" only.
I checked my old map where I got it working earlier and there it was still fine using "tf_rt1523g", but it wont work on my new map even when I try with the same radio, and have it equipped. So the error is probably not the radio but something else =/
Hi, I tried using the black version of "tf_rt1523g" as the required item for calling in transport / CAS but I can't seem to get it to work. The radio "tf_rt1523g_black" is equipped and I have tried both "tf_rt1523g_black" and "tf_rt1523g" on the "Call in combat support with"-line in the module but it still won't work. Is that one not compatible?
@AUTigerGrad thank you, it was easier than i first thought!
However Im not sure I did everything correctly, I went to the group editor, selected the correct faction and made the edits. For example I deleted all tanks from usarmy wd and placed some of the heavier apc's there instead of mechanized so they would be rarer.
I exported all groups of both factions i use and merged the configs and pasted it into my description file.
When I reload the map orbat got my changes loaded so it seems it worked, but I still see the deleted tanks spawn. Maybe I missunderstood the group edit function?
This may be a stupid question but I have been using the RHS factions and I eventually found myself adjusting most groups, if I simply remove them all and recreate then in the "correct" categories (infantry, motorized, tanks and so on) instead of the hacky RHS ones will everything work the same?
Is there any naming convention I should follow or can I let Alive generate them for me / make up my own? I'm thinking if they are perhaps used for anything else like "marking" a group as a AA-group or AT-group and so on. Or do the commander simply get groups at random?
Lastly I would like to have Tanks on the Russian side, but the MSV faction don't include them. If I understand correctly I could make my own faction and merge the two, but that would add another addon dependency? Could I instead give the commander control of both Russian faction and have one with only tanks as available groups? and that way "combine" the factions without making my own.
