ALiVE doesn't change the low level AI. VCOM will use artillery just the same with ALiVE running as without. I've often had VCOM using my Combat Support mortars and other static weapons spawned by ALiVE.
I would suggest not running Exile and ALiVE together for starters.
Helis crashing is normal. Pilot AI is dreadful. We're continuing to explore workarounds.
MACC respawn isn't available in the current release. It's in the Dev version and we'll hopefully release Soon(TM)
CS is entirely different setup and not possible to integrate. You generally get better success with AI pilots engaging targets that are laser designated
We're in the process of re-writing the fleximenu code, because this problem keeps randomly cropping up. Hopefully the fix will make the problem go away completely.
As it says in the wiki, yes :) http://alivemod.com/wiki/index.php/CQB
It's explained in the usage line here: http://alivemod.com/wiki/index.php/IED
If you place the IED module on its own, it will create random IEDs. Setting higher IED Threat increases the chance of an IED spawning. The dots you see in debug are the potential locations that it can place IEDs. They will despawn when a player leaves the area. When a player returns, it's still random so IEDs may spawn in different locations.
When synced to the AI Commander in Asymmetric mode, IED placement is no longer random and becomes entirely reliant on the insurgent production chain. They need to recruit insurgents, arm them with bombs or vests and send them to a potential IED location in a hostile town where they will plant the IED to target security forces. Obviously this can take some time. Players (or AI security forces) can interdict the production chain at any point.
You need to set up a dev environment and create a build https://github.com/ALiVEOS/ALiVE.OS/wiki/How-to-Set-Up-Dev-Environment
If you're not confident how to do that, you can use the latest pre-release builds https://github.com/ALiVEOS/ALiVE.OS/releases
You need to place a named air space marker and it needs to cover at least one airfield. Either Mil Placement or MACC will spawn aircraft at existing airfields. Alternatively, you can place empty aircraft manually.
